Frohe Ostern! Es ist zwar kein Osterei aber trotzdem genauso schön bunt - die BMW-Welt in der blauen Stunde. Ein tolles Farbenspiel und ein außergewöhnliches Gebäude was der Architekt da geschaffen hat. Wer mal in München ist sollte hier unbedingt vorbei schauen - es lohnt sich. Hier noch eine kleine Osterüberraschung: Demnächst werde ich das Fotoblog auf WordPress umstellen. Das neue Design hat reichlich Kraft gekostet und die letzten Tests laufen noch, doch die Zeit ist reif für eine Veröffentlichung. Also bleibt gespannt. Lucas :)

Happy Easter! It is not a easter egg but still just as colorful - the BMW World at the blue hour. A great play of colors and an indeed an unusual building - nicely done Mr. Architect. Everybody who is visiting Munich should definitely stop by here - it's worth it. In addition here's a little Easter surprise: Soon I will convert the photo blog to WordPress. The new design has cost me plenty of power and the final tests are ongoing, but it's now time for publication. So stay tuned. Lucas :)

Heute gibt es was Besonderes - das Ergebnis von Birgits Fotoaktion [Stille Post](http://birgitengelhardt.de/blog/2012/02/fotoprojekt-stille-post-die-ergebnisse-sind-online/comment-page-1/#comment-7496) ist endlich online und Jeder kann sichs anschauen. Das Bild hier war mein Beitrag (Gruppe 16 auf Seite 163 zu sehen) und es ist der absolute Wahnsinn wie sich die einzelnen Gruppen entwickelt haben - so viele tolle Bilder und Inspiration. Absolut Weltklasse!

Today, there is something special - the result of Birgits photo project [Stille Post](http://birgitengelhardt.de/blog/2012/02/fotoprojekt-stille-post-die-ergebnisse-sind-online/comment-page-1/#comment-7496) is finally online for everybody to watch. The picture here was my part of the project (watch Group 16 on page 163) and it's absolutely amazing how each group has developed - so many great pictures and inspiration. World class!

Gesundes neues Jahr 2012 euch Allen - ihr hattet hoffentlich viel Spaß beim alljährlichen Silvesterfeuerwerk und habt nicht zu tief ins Glas geguckt. Ich möchte das Jahr gern mit einem eher abstrakten Foto starten, was ich letztes Jahr bei meinem Besuch der Herrenhäuser Gärten in Hannover gemacht habe. Die Gärten sind wirklich klasse für alle, die es gepflegt mögen und sich gern davon überraschen lassen wollen, was hinter der nächste Ecke auf sie wartet. Das Schachbrettmuster hier gibt es schon gleich am Eingang des großen Gartens zu bewundern.

happy new year 2012 everyone - hope you enjoyed the fireworks and the turn of the year and got no hangover the next day. I'd like to start the year with a rather abstract photo from my last years visit of the royal gardens of Herrenhausen in Hannover. A realy nice place to visit if you enjoy walking trough well-kept parks with some eye candy waiting for you behind every corner. This chess pattern here can be admired right at the Entrance of the Great Garden.

Dieser Herbst ist einfach toll - das Wetter schafft es doch glatt den lausigen Sommer auszugleichen. Die Farben da draußen sind einfach der Hammer. Moritzburg ist für diese Jahreszeit ein prima Motiv, weil dort jede Menge bunte Laubbäume rumstehen und mit der tief stehenden Herbstsonne knallen die Farben erst recht. Der Herbst macht mir dieses Jahr echt mal wieder Spaß.

This fall is awesome - the weather compensates the lousy summer and the colors out there are totally amazing. As shown on the picture Moritzburg is great during fall season because of the colorful broadleaf trees there. Due to the low sun the scenery gets this warm appearance which boost the colors additionally. Well, I realy enjoy this fall.

Heute gibts ein Leckerli ;) das Bild hab ich eher durch Zufall aufgenommen, als ich letzte Woche sehr früh aufstehen musste. Mit gerade so einem offenen Auge blickte ich schlaftrunken aus dem Badfenster und siehe da, was für eine wahnsinns Szene. Es brauchte nur Sekunde die Kamera rauszukramen und in Stellung zu bringen :) - und ich könnte schwören, dass ich den kompletten Mondumriss sehen kann, wenn ich ganz genau hinschaue - Ihr auch?

Today comes a goody ;) I took this lucky shoot last week while I had to get up very early in the morning. With one eye open I saw this beautifull scenery when I looked out of the bathroom window. So it took me only seconds to get the camera in position :) - and I'm sure I can see the silhouette of the complete moon if I look close enough - you too?

So - heute ist es also soweit und ich lasse endlich die Katze aus dem Sack, wo ich denn kürzlich gewesen bin. Ich war in Malaysia und hab mir dort die Hauptstadt Kuala Lumpur (KL) und das Städtchen Alor Setar im Norden anschauen dürfen. Ich war insgesamt eineinhalb Wochen dort und hab alle Bilder der aktuellen Serie an dem einen Wochenende das ich hatte, gemacht. Mit dem heutigen Foto wird natürlich auch klar welches Gebäude denn hinter [steel and glass](http://blog.lucasphoto.de/index.php?showimage=218) und [twinkling](http://blog.lucasphoto.de/index.php?showimage=222) steckt - die Petronas Towers (die Skybridge ist das untrügliche Merkmal). Hier mal als Nachtaufnahme, aufgenommen während der weltweiten earth hour. Ich hatte sowas von Glück an diesem Samstag Abend dort zu sein und die Towers von einem Moment zum anderen im dunkeln stehen zu sehen. I nehme mal an, dass so ein Anblick nicht alltäglich ist und ich hab glücklicherweise ein Foto davon. Das wars erstmal und ich hoffe Euch hat das kleine Ratespiel genauso viel Freude gemacht wie mir. ;)

Alright folks - today it is time to let the cat out of the bag. The country I have been to lately was Malaysia. I visited the capital Kuala Lumpur (KL) and Alor Setar in the north of Malaysia for one and a half week. All pictures of this series were shot in and arround KL at the one weekend I had. And with the todays picture it is getting clear - the bulding on [steel and glass](http://blog.lucasphoto.de/index.php?showimage=218) and [twinkling](http://blog.lucasphoto.de/index.php?showimage=222) are the Petronas Towers (the Skybridge tells the whole story). In this case this is a night shot taken during the worldwide earth hour. It was absolutely big luck beeing there on this sunday evening and watching the towers getting pitch dark from one moment to the next. I suppose that this is not an all day picture of the towers and I'm glad having one. That's it for this time an I hope you enjoyed this small quiz game as much as I did. ;)

Jetzt kommen wir der Antwort schon näher. Solltet Ihr noch immer im dunklen tappen um welchen Ort es sich denn hier handelt, wird wohl das nächste Bild den entscheidenden Hinweis geben. Hier noch ein kleiner Hinweis - das aktuelle Bild hängt mit dem ersten der Serie zusammen.

Now we're getting realy close to the answer. If you already have not the faintest idea about the location I think you will get it with the next picture. As a small hint - this picture is related to the first one of the series.

Heute mag es für Einige den entscheidenden Hinweis geben, wo ich denn gewesen bin, aber lasst euch nicht in die Irre führen. ;) Der goldene Kerl hier ist eine Gottheit des Hinduismus und ist etwa 42 Meter hoch. Die Statue ist für Ihre Größe auch berühmt und gehört zu einer handvoll Tempel in der Umgebung. Einige dieser Tempel können allerdings nur durch Treppen steigen (272) erreicht werden, die links neben der Statue nach oben gehen.

So today some may get the crucial puzzle piece which country/city I was visiting but it could also be a bit misleading. ;) This golden guy here is a Hindu deity and is about 42 meters high. The statue is famous for it's hight and belongs to several temples arround it. Some of them can only be reached by climbing up those stairs (272) on the left side.

...diesmal wird es schon etwas konkreter aber wer das Gebäude nicht kennt tappt wohl immernoch im dunklen. Der Blick von da oben war auf jeden Fall sein Geld wert. :)

...today it is getting a little more concrete. But if you don't know the tower you may be still in the dark. Anyway the top view was realy worth the money. :)
